  • NIMBY -- your neighbours are the ones who decided to move in BESIDE AN AIRPORT you moron. In any case, the noise and pollution from a few turboprops is nothing compared to what the people living around YYZ have to cope with, so get over yourself.

  • Just smell the air buddy! It stinks. Of course your type likes that. Shows you've got power. Any one that thinks an airport in the middle of a residential area is a good idea must have a mental deficiency

  • someone who, does not understand that flying into the middle of a city without any problems, of going to pearson or having to take a cab, is way more retarded... belive me... the airport is not retarded, the old guy who wants to stop an airport is.

  • I'm just trying to be a responsible citizen that cares about his city and waterfront. The airport (TCCA) is a nasty piece of planning. But hey! It's canada we're destroying Alberta by extracting dirty fuel so we can make our US neighbours happy! Toronto-Car crazy and Plane stupid!

  • Hey smart one your friends are the ones that decided to move NEXT DOOR TO AN AIRPORT. if its anyone's fault its you and your friends for living beside an airport, so do the world a favour move to the suburbs where there is no airports for miles than you can enjoy your trains and clean air.Have you ever seen YYZ they have jets coming in every 60 seconds. Porter has planes coming in every 5-10 minutes and use Dash 8 Q400 the quietest and most environmentally friendly turboprop on the market.

  • Here's what's wrong with flying from Toronto City Center- people who live on the islands. Get over it. They should build a bridge to increase traffic and expand runways to allow larger aircraft as far as I'm concerned as it would be good for the region economically.

  • Whats wrong with flying @ Toronto island airport? NOTHING! The airport was in existence long before we were born! Yes, a train is a more environmentally friendly way to go, but reality is that the unions killed VIA a long time ago. Whats better: 80 people driving to/from Pearson for a flight to Ottawa or Montreal, or going via island airport? The air stank long before Porter arrived. If you dont like them, dont fly them! I bet you voted for Miller.. smart move Mr Mayor!!

  • Hi Jerry. Fair point about train vs plane, but it's not rational to assume that your neighbors are getting sick because of the airport. When I look down toward the Lakeshore from farther north and see that brown layer of airscum lying over the city, I am certain that is does not result from the swarm of Bombardier Q400s operating nearby.

  • Get over it, the airport has been there for a long time. It won't leave.

  • buddy...you need to get out more, and get a life...hey maybe if you travelled maybe you wouldnt be sayin this shit

  • The airport was there first and the pollution you smell is your stinkin cars. Get over it. If you don't like where you live, go live your boring life somewhere else.

  • obviously has no real knowledge or understanding on the issue.

  • @jerryrant Yeah.. do you think Alberta's economy which is bringing in tens of thousands of immigrants for work would be in the same position if we didn't extract "dirty" fuel from the ground? Ps. I wish you the best of luck on closing down the Toronto City Centre Airport.
