The key to reproduction also is standardization of generic machine tool designs of all basic machine tools. The Van Norman milling machine seems to be a customized design for specialized uses which affects it's self-reproduction capabilities. Re-engineering of it's designs back to basics might help regain back such capabilities.

haha, grind-grind. I run a van norman too. It's so old it's loose and sloppy. The only thing it's good for now is milling keyways.
