I recently rediscovered an album he did with Ravi Shankar called Improvisations. His tone on this album is unbelievable, velvety and "fat" like Rampal. It seems to fill the room.

Does anybody know anything about the cover photos? Are those the musicians' children? Think how old they'd be now, probably senior citizens.But isn't it true Bud Shank is still alive??

@ferociousgumby....I don't know about the children in the cover...i like to think that they are the daughters of bud shank and bob cooper....me too when i see the pic i think how old they are now....about bud shank.....unlucky....bud is dead on april 2, 2009 :((((

Oh I want and NEED to hear this LP again as it brings back a huge rush of memory. I used to listen to it when I was a kid and knew nothing about "jazz" or even what it was, except that I loved to listen to this I'd love to at least see a playlist, as I can't remember all the names of the tunes, except I can hear them in my head. MORE, PLEASE!!!

Oh yes,l please, I would love that. I since have remembered more tunes, though I can't remember the titles of them, so hearing them would be fun and a real pleasure!
