Lots of torque, yes. But it's only over a tiny rev range, meaning lots of gear changes to keep it on the boil. And as we all know, changing gear = no acceleration.

i had the Megane 1.6 16v and now have just got the new audi A3 2.0 spor tdi. theres no way the megane can bet my new car.lol. even tho the megane is kinda quick of the get go, but if i was drivin i would have left that shity french car behind.

1.9 110hp is way slower than the 1.6 16v. as for the new 2.0l 140hp:
The Audis 9.1-second 0-60mph sprint time....that's not really fast;) The 2.0l petrol engine from Renault: 8.7(yeah, the Megane is faster:P)
