They're the same guys who guesstimated the size of the object.

If you look at the description of the "Diameter" label it clearly states :

"This is an estimate based on the absolute magnitude, usually assuming a uniform spherical body with visual albedo pV = 0.154...but sometimes using actual measured values if these are available. Since the albedo is rarely measured, the diameter estimate should be considered only approximate, but in most cases will be accurate to within a factor of two."

Yeah and they're the same guys who said that without even knowing the size of the object, as discovered on Jan 9. Anyway, your thinking is clear and I'm not here to persuade or dissuade you. Cheers!

Agreed, we do not know if we will get hit by a bus the next time we're out walking or suddenly have the aorta bursting.

But as far as Apophis goes the experts, who have looked at the position of this asteroid and calculated its and the earth's future positions in space, are confident enough to announce it will not hit us.

That was the only thing my initial comment said, wasn't it?

Bro, think what you want to think. This channel isn't here to tell you you're going to die. What is says overall is that YOU don't know if you will or not, nobody does. Take it or leave it homey.

Well, statistically I'll still be alive in 2036 so if you are too we can always hook up then to compare notes.

Unless Nibiru has hit us first that is... Right?

They probably weren't able to solve the complex trajectory and orbital equations in their head. Unfortunately not all astronomers are able to do that...
