"Free Design" is rather "Reminiscences of the future" by Peter Thomas...which may also been an influence to "Dancing queen" me thinks.

Not sure about the "Free Design" = "Dancing Queen", but it's a nice way to end. Brilliant work overall (on all five parts)! So much COOL music to discover.

actually, its identical imho -- listen to the horn riff in the Free Design and compare to the vocal riff in Dancing Queen

Heh, among all the similarities presented until now, that one is precisely the most certain and undoubtable one. The way Stereolab did it, in fact, seems more like a (brilliant) joke than a reference. The "Parsec" one is also definitely impressive. Didn't hear anything on the other ones, though.
