After becoming the only player to score back to back 50+pts in the playoffs in this series, MJ proceeded to set several more records. Here in Game 3, MJ would break Wilt's record for most points and field goals after 3 games.

Make no mistake, MJ was off in this game. His jumper was not falling. But, this was when MJ would turn into the most exciting player because you knew he would start attacking the basket and produce acrobatic drives that no one had seen before. And that, he did. With an uncanny ability to slice and hang, MJ left commentator and hall of famer Rick Barry speechless with his athleticism. Personally, this was the type of game I liked best from MJ. When his jumper was off, it was awesome to see him pick it up in other areas of his game.

Chicago would go on to lose this game but MJ's 38 points came in memorable fashion. And as part of his record setting 45.2 ppg in a 5 game series, it has its place in history. Look out for Games 4 and 5 next.

  • I'm selling all my Jordan games. contact me if your intersted. I have over 300 games on DVD and VHS. honestly, you name it I have it. I watched them so many times already it's time to pass them on

  • Message me your list please!

  • KB fans get so blinded by his long range shots, that they forgot that penetrating 80's and 90's defense driving to the basket presents an equal challenge, being even harder sometimes. this man's game is unparalleled

  • Shooting long range shots was Bird's game. I can see that all day long. During the era of the Big Men with no flagrants and hand-checking, going inside was so difficult, most scouts looked for shooters to draft. Meanwhile, MJ dominated by driving. There will never be anything close. The most disappointing games were the ones where MJ actually took 3s and hit them because you were deprived of his creativity which was what made him stand out.

  • MJ didn't really have 0 steals in this game, did he? By math he must have between 4 and 7 steals in games 3 and 4 of this series, so I was just wondering. I'm trying to put together some box scores.

  • Yeah, I wasn't keeping track of that on this one. If you have the series averages, I guess you could estimate.

  • Unreal player.

  • @michellefarry DO U STILL HAVE THOSE JORDAN DVD'S? IF SO, WHICH GAMES DO U HAVE?

  • Bulls win game 3 in 2010!!!

  • I wonder how many of us watched this video and just kept shaking our heads in disbelief.

  • @hoopsencyclopedia word dude, it would be so funny if Larry played today because he'd utterly destroy teams on offense. No perimeter D because you can't touch anyone now. Then Larry would just use the pick to shoot midrange jumpers all day. Larry made young Pip look silly back in the day. Imagine what he'd do to defenders now.

  • OMG

  • Look at Dick Bevetta at :38. He was old even in the 80's!!

  • aboslutly notice jordans free throw stroke, got more stable after he got physically stronger, more legs early.

  • People dont realize how unreal this series was... hoops got it down. I mean you had ron harper at the time was a unreal defender. YOu had shotblockers to content with and size in guys like nance and jordan just took it to them and absolutly dominated with finishes that where so hard yet he made look so easy.
