J-Hoppers Ltd. opened the 4th hostel in Hida Takayama in 2009 May. The building used to be Japanese style ryokan and there are many Japanese style rooms with tatami matts and shoji paper windows. Beds in dorm rooms are much bigger than ordinary bunk beds.

The hostel is about 3 minute walk from the station. It is also very close to the old town and the other main sightseeing spots.

Stayed there for 2 nights in August! Really liked the place! Quiet, comfortable, clean, great deal!!! Friendly staff as well. I stayed at one of the Japanese private rooms, shared bathroom.
