Captain Calamity crashes and capsizes - Mischief the boat is destroyed in waves

http://www.newquaysurfer.org footage of Captain Calamity aka Glenn Crawley - crashing his now legendary catamaran boat 'Mischief' at Little Fistral, Newquay. Watch as he ends up drifting inside the breaking waves much to the bemusement of the surfers as the boat gets caught inside powerful surf. Waves soon begin to hit the boat. The first wave impacts so hard he is forced to dive for cover and the boat begins to break apart. RIP 'mischief'. Glenn's unique personal style of extreme sailing has always been controversial. Once he was banned from Newquay Harbor partly due to being involved in 4 RNLI coastguard rescues while in charge of Mischief in as many hours. Funny or not it was irresponsible to sail into the surf like that. He did the same thing at Lusty Glaze a couple of years back and narrowly missed getting killed then, along with a younger lad who was crewing for him. I'm all for sailing in arduous conditions but that was just naive.

Fair play! Go for it mate, but I think you've used up all your rescues. No more wasting the charities money on your stupidity. I'm sure you'd make the swim to shore.... And your boat should be sold at auction with the proceeds going to the RNLI.

I saw him being saved again!!!! Yesterday! This time a surfer had to paddle about 200m to help right the boat before it got smashed into the rocks at Great Western. So nearly got taken out by a big set.
