The decontamination procedure used in the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) E1174 test method for Healthcare Personnel Hand Wash products is shown in this video. When contaminating the hands with a potential pathogenic bacteria strain, it is critical to ensure subject safety and have them complete a vigorous decontamination procedure. The decontamination procedure used by BioScience Laboratories is a three step procedure which uses high concentration of Isopropyl Alcohol, CHG (Chlorhexidine Gluconate) and lastly a Triple Antibiotic Ointment. This decontamination procedure has been very successful in ensuring subject safety.
