The 600ft western tower was felled at 3.24pm on Wednesday 20 December 2006, at the decommissioned Belconnen Naval Transmitting Station in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The station had been built in 1938. Also see separate video of the central and eastern towers felled at 4.07pm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFVuUy...

How was it done? Each tower had three sets of three guys going to different heights on the towers. One set of guy wires (three separate guys) was cut by explosive charges, and the weight of the remaining two sets of guys pulled the tower down between them.
