  • @LBNANY No, the song has two aspects. One is a man, in love with a woman, but she's starting to love an arab man, and he wishes she'd ignore him. The other is that the "woman" is the land of israel, and he is the Israeli side, and the arab is the Palestinian aspect. The struggle for her is symbolic of territory

  • Just for general knowledge Meir Ariel writes songs with a lot of metaphors and this song is about the Arab-Israeli conflict, and Land of Israel is the girl.

in Song there is a struggle over territory in which the desire to control by both sides, and Suriym of the writer that he can not keep it to himself. Think about it ...

  • @LBNANY in fact it's definitely his girlfriend, there's a line at about 2:00 where he says they go out

  • @LBNANY

daughter? I really thought it was his girlfriend

  • So this drunk guy is upset his daughter is dating an educated Arab? That's racist, but the song is catchy so I have added it to a play-list. :D

    R.I.P. Meir Ariel

  • btw - excellent translation!

  • One of my all time favourites...
