Clean, but certainly not safe. Though neither are fossil fuels. In the end i think the value outweighs the cost.

Actually water is an energy source all Things r made of atoms and all atoms produce energy or at the very least potential energy. I dont think people should dismiss this just because it seems to good to be true. well if this water fueling thing doesnt take off that would suck because gasoline is just really stupid because it causes wars & is bad for the enviroment & I love my money & I would't want to waste it on a bunch of gasoline Id much rather just get some free water from the fossit :)

Thankfully these comments are full of common sense. Water is never an energy source.

There is a pretty good discussion of this topic at "Water fueled cars" on Wikipedia. While wiki has to be taken with a grain of salt most of the time, the references there are excellent and verifiable. There have been water-powered cars since there were cars. Most of them were called "steam cars."

The point is that if this was real, someone would exploit it. The most likely exploiter would be an oil company. They are jumping into all kinds of energy production already. Wind, geothermal, wave, etc. Remember, the base reason is MONEY. If you really could run a car off water, the auto companies would be selling them like hotcakes right now instead of going bankrupt, with a lot of billionaires losing billions of dollars. Not a chance this works. It's simple math & it doesn't work out.

The math is simple. It requires a certain amount of energy to separate the two elements. You get a certain amount of energy back when you burn it again. There is 100% of the time a loss of energy. The only question is how big the loss is. The probability of it being a true "water only" engine is zero but if the input of energy is less than what it takes to run the car on gas or diesel, then it's a possible good deal.

You are very clear explaining the whole point of this. Thanks for explaining in a few lines. Many people could think this energy obtained from water is just a miracle and could be the "perfect machine". But it is not, as you clearly said.
