@readyeddy101 That's cool, there's many ways to play a pattern, so why not do it your own way if it works for the song. I'm learning to laugh now at folks who comment on covers that I" missed a crash" whereas before I felt I had to instruct them about the object of playing covers. .

@FL50DRUMR For me I am still in the journey. I always like the challenge of learning something new. I appreciate you kind words Ed. Believe me I have limitations to my drumming but I work with what I have. You are doing great drumming Ed !! You have a good feel for timing and your covers always sound right on to me.. You play challenging covers and play them well....You rock my frien !!! Nick

@rmdrummer87 Thanks...cool...Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits is a great tune. I used to play that with my band. It has a nice arrangement. I have been thinking of going over that one again. Thanks ....Nick

Oh cool, Nick! I was considering covering this number since I used to play it in a band back in the mid 70s. You got a good nice smacking snare on the 2 & 4. I like how your own drum mix is above the song track enough so that you could play your own thing & not be concerned about parroting the drum track. Dig that section at 2:10. Nice man.

@rhythmantic Thanks Sal..I think I had most of the basics down on the song. Not quite sure if I inserted the hi hat hit that runs throughout much of the song in the correct place. I try to keep the drum volume above the song track volume mainly to allow people to easily hear what I am doing. And as you say I can do my own thing in spots and not be dueling exactly to what I miss. I know there was a spot where there was a four hit fill of 1/8 notes off the h hat but instead I did a drum fill
