Projekt A.K debut album FUNKdeMENTAL listening preview

FUNKdeMENTAL is a debut album by my project band called Projekt A.K, in which I play the guitar. The name of the band itself (always misspelled as Project AK) has a long and intricate history, from the circa 1994 the Malaysian so-called underground scene.. This album's line-up is purely formed by jamming buddies whom just enjoyed our inner-funk and grooved it all out during various jamming sessions in 2003-2007. Two of us were from the mainstream bands at that time, Andy from Flop Poppy and me (Syahmi) from D-Va. We were just blasting out our music like no one's business. The stagnancy in local music industry at that time might be a lil' hurt. It made us proud of what we were doing back then, and pushed us to put a stamp on somewhat never ending trends, never ending stupidity that might hurt our brains as musicians. We finally took our bits and chunks of music seriously, and begun to put em' into record. The recording process started in 2006 (or 2007?) at my studio, the MajestY Studio (various MajestYs.. some said the studios never existed). Engineered by my own hands, this album enjoyed a luxury of take-yer-time studio hours, multiple long breaks, while it's breaking some of the physics of audio schools. Still, this album carries a lot of souls, despite its very down to earth and minimal equipment setup. Eventually, last New Year's eve (2011 in Langkawi), the album had physically out, on the sandy beach of Pantai Chenang, carries itself in the real case, (no more marker pen written cd-r) first time on the planet earth..

We are proud with this baby of ours, we want to share it with the world.. Peace
