Marine Corps Special Operations Command Part I

Force Recon used to be the "semi-special forces". They conducted high risk operations at the light infantry level, but they were never given their separate logistical and intelligence support.
However, due to the War on Terror, Special Operations and CT units are in high demand. So the Force Recon has been scrapped and nearly all of its soldiers have been phased into the MARSOC.
MARSOC is the first real Marine Special Forces.

Why the Navy won't allow ForceRecon to have the spotlight as Seals?
-

Swede, do you think the Corps should bring the Raiders back and rename MSOB's the Raiders?
-
I will say I was in Recon Batt and then 1st Force..Im kinda back n forth with joining socom but overall I think its a good move for the Corps. Better funding and they have to see how badass we actually are!

@alkasetzer06 it's a popular SPEC OPS patch, SEAL TEAM 5, uses it as their logo.

As a former Marine I can say the corps has never respected there 'special ops guys" now they finally enter socom and have the stupid name of marsoc very gerneric name. They should have come up with a name that instently tells the one hearing oh they are marine special ops. When you here marsoc marine you think ok what do they do peel potatios? Semper Fi and GOD Bless.
