Hundreds of riot police and troops are patrolling the French city of Grenoble after two days of looting and violence.

Rioters shot at police and burned about 16 cars in Villeneuve, a poor suburb of the Alpine city that is home to a largely immigrant population.

The clashes were sparked when a local resident suspected of robbing a casino was killed in an exchange of fire with police in nearby Uriage-les-Bains on Friday.

@badsign1980 One of the observations Caldwell makes is that instead of each generation of Muslim children assimilating into European culture, they actually become MORE foreign. AND once they become citizens, bring their wife to be (through arranged marriages) from the "old country". Feeling alienated, Muslim youth only become radicalized. Caldwell's not optimistic. We have millions of Hispanic immigrants. But they're Christian, speak a romance language, and share Western values. Thank God.
