Skæbner ved Rouletten.
(Willy Kierulf - Carl Viggo Meincke & Emilie Møller)
Anker Skjoldborgs Danseorkester.
Refrain: Valdemar Davids.
Odeon D-315
Recorded in Copenhagen, Denmark 1935.
Anker Skjoldborg (1903-86) popular Danish band leader in 1930'ies. Anker Skjoldborg was brother of the Danish jazz guitarist and band leader Bertel Skjoldborg. Anker Skjoldborg created his own dance orchestra in Copenhagen in 1934 and recorded several records with jazz and dance music. These 78rpm records are not that easy to find to day. 1939 Anker Skjoldborg deleted his orchestra and emmigrated to USA.
Valdemar Davids (1900-1964) popular Danish vocalist between 1920's-50's. Valdemar Davids was contracted to Odeon between 1927-36, and made several recordings in Copenhagen and Berlin. From 1936 Valdemar Davids was contracted Polyphon and made a lot of recordings, especially with Teddy Petersen's Orchestra. In early 1950'ies Valdemar Davids ended his vocalist career, and opened his own radio and grammophone shop in the Copenhagen suburb Valby. Valdemar Davids was one of the most beloved Danish victrola stars during the 78rpm Era.
Another gem from Northatlantic's seemingly inexhaustible treasure chest.
