  • Arrh, my audio is not operating, but still nice to se there is such a thing as Uke Day.. Thanks Mike, you are an inspiration. Money problems mean I am still a few weeks from my first Uke.. That said; know we do so appreciate you commitment to the ukulele community..Thanks very much.... ----senorsal---

  • Mike,

Happy Ukulele day!! I have two ukuleles I keep at my office, and have a couple that I lend out to friends, family and coworkers to try. I have given 7 to friends and family in the past year or so. You just can't help but love the happy sounds of a ukulele. I still have not gotten to meet you in person but will one day. Thanks for the instructional videos for us all.

  • Awwww, thanks for mentioning us Mike. :-) We're just getting our skype link-ups organised here for Thursday. Very exciting to mix music with technology to share the fun of ukulele playing. Thanks to you Mike for all your inspirational teaching and thanks to Claire Buist at my school for inspiring our World Ukulele Day exploits! We'll let you know how we get on!

  • I still enjoy playing the theme song you introduced for this day: WIth Just Four Strings.

  • thanks for letting us know!

  • I started playing clawhammer style and will be playing lots of tunes Feb.2nd....everyone enjoy the day...!!!!!

  • @kendras515 sorry but i couldn't help but say that mr mike knows how to say ukulele. the way he is pronouncing it is the english way! the way you want it pronounced is the hawaiian way. check it on wikipedia my friend :)

  • Wow! I'm getting my stuff together. Took my yuke (not ook sorry) and tried it out at my singing group! Nearly there! What a challenge! Thanks Mike. I take it this not a judged competition, but an informal participation event for anyone who wants to take part and bring some light into people's lives. So have fun and...... happy strumming!

  • Feb 2nd is my birthday and I'm getting my first ukulele as a present - Quite a coincidence!
