Information & Trivia
--------------------------------------
- Episode #85: "Galactor's Deadly Trap" (Pilot) (1986)

- Original "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" Episode: #87; "Patogiller, The Triple Combined Iron Beast" (1974)

- Original U.S airdate (Cartoon Network): Wednesday, April 12, 1995.

This is the second of two pilot episodes to "G-Force: Guardians of Space" (1986), itself the second of three English translations of Tatsunoko Productions' "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" (1972), following "Battle of the Planets" (1978) and preceding ADV Film's uncut Gatchaman release (2005). Unlike most shows, whose pilot episodes are often their first episodes, the producers behind "G-Force" selected two out-of-order "Gatchaman" episodes as the pilots for this adaptation, with "The Whale Submarine" ("G-Force" and "Gatchaman" Episode 18) being the first pilot and this episode (Episode 85, originally "Gatchaman" Episode 87) being the second (and the last episode of the "G-Force" dub ironically).

The pilots to "G-Force" are unique amongst the rest of its episodes for having replaced all of the original Gatchaman music with new music composed by Dean Andre (who composed the show's theme song), which was part of a proposed original music score that would've completely replaced the symphonic, 1970's "Gatchaman" score with a then-modern, synthesized score. Due to budget constraints, the new score wasn't utilized beyond the pilots and was left on the cutting room floor, with the rest of G-Force's episodes retaining most of the "Gatchaman" score, supplementing it with a repetitive instrumental during silent moments in the soundtrack (a practice known as "fill-in music").

Enjoy!!!
