not really, the sex is given willingly and with no exchange of money or goods.

Prostitutes do give sex willingly (except for those forced into prostitution, but that's not most prostitutes). "Willingly" is not the same thing as free.

In a traditional marriage, the man agrees to provide the woman's with basic necessities of living in exchange for sex provided by the woman. That comes down to money exchanged for sex. Like it or not, that is the definition of prostitution. You can try to paint any way you want, but its essence remains just that.

I think he provides her with basic needs so that she won't have to work so she can devote her time to raising children. I think marriage is more for parenthood than sex, otherwise why would we do it?
I see what you mean though.

so the only reason that you get married is to have sex?

People get married for a whole variety of reasons. But no matter what the reason, it almost always works out to an exchange of money for sex. I'm not saying this in a derogatory manner. It just is what it is. It is the deal nature has worked out to ensure the perpetuation of any species. Throughout most of the animal kingdom, the male provides food and/or shelter for the female in exchange for the female's willingness to mate. It's just that humans have put a thin veneer of civilization on it.

Wrong on both counts.

1: You're not married.
2: I'm not married.

dont rank down a joke :)

what's life worth if we can't smile and giggle at ourselves from time to time, when appropriate.
