  • @TheOperaMagna partly but also due to his refusal to go for big shots like he used to from 2000-2005. He's too passive with his fh nowadays, but has shown on occasion that when he uses his old fh he can still win (dubai 08, wimby 09, miami 10) but he just never uses it

  • Is age behind why Roddick is in decline?

  • @anduril38 Yes, of course, but I think the reason of Roddick's decline is after his Miami win, everybody excepted a lot of him, and he just felt too much pressure. In 2009 when he reached the Wimbledon final, nobody thought he would only beat Murray in the semis, and he almost won the title. His mononucleosis dind't help... (Sorry for my english, I'm french !)

  • @redasdu84 I was referring to Grand Slams, which tends to be the main importance..

  • @anduril38 That's wrong, two months later he won the Miami Masters ! Then, his decline started

  • 09:36 Commentator orgasm.

  • Gonzalez has got an amazing backhand, no doubt.

  • @Rafathaman94 This match started Roddicks decline too :(

  • Two things I never understand about Roddick: 1) Why he's terrible at saving break points, and 2) Why his footwork is so abysmal.

  • @randomgun Serve leg push or the pusher or moon baller?

  • lovely rally

  • gonzo invented the winner, roddick invented the serve and push

  • gonzo gave up at the end

  • middle finger at 5:00 in the crowd

  • @Jake1985Nazar better yet, HAS the talent, gonzo did come close to winning a slam, only a red hot roger federer, stopped him from winning one..

  • Public Annoucement:

Who can help me found Mardy Fish, who will win one award.

For example, If you help me contact with Mardy Fish directly, If Mardy Fish win US Open champion 2011, Mardy Fish will give you 10% of his prize money. I will do my best to help him make his dream come true.

    Thanks,

  • The way Gonzo played in this match shows you he had the talent to win a Grand Slam. Great FH and BH the problem was his serve and temperment, too many times he lost focus in matces he should have won and let it get to him especially when he had terrible serving problems. He had the talent just not the mental strength.

  • @Deadeye287 Right playing fancy tennis isn't really Andy's thing he is just a puncher who tries to hit a lot of aces and some FH winners. Plus he doesn't have a one-handed backhand which is much more flashier.

  • @axedevil i dont think so, there weren't many good points made by andy in this match, Gonzo played like a god for the 2-4th sets. Even in the first set he was winning more awesome points. Roddick was just trying to keep the pressure on for the most part and not do anything fancy or flashy

  • the person who made this video hates roddick
