This is a re-recording of one of my original songs. Used recording software this time around. One of the original comments said it was as a song about a maverick heart. Couldn't have said it better myself. My favorite of my own originals and just thought it deserved a little better sound than the first time around. Hope you enjoy -8th.

WIld Flowers" An original song by Eighthavenue. All Rights Reserved

You can't choose where wild flowers grow
They don't need fertile land or helping hands
Sidewalk cracks suite them better than a cultivated row
Wild flowers flourish in the arid desert sand

You are like the beauty of a solo violin
Singing to the heart of anyone you can
Steeped in contrast to the gray and barren land
Calling out for the affections of a simple common man

Rain drops from your petals fall like tears from the heart,
on the broken trust of those who didn't understand
You can't be held to tightly or your love will fall apart
Wild flowers must be gently held -with an opened hand

Chorus

Wild flowers stand alone against the raging storm,
bending to the wind and the rain
Their shallow roots are clinging to a life that they adore,
knowing if theirs no tomorrow their wont be any pain,
and when their gone for knowing them -we will all be blessed
For wild flowers are beautiful, and are not to be possessed

  • @777bHaE Not easy to do but you've humbled me!! What a nice thing to do...to feature my song on your page. Big thanks!! Like I said to have someone appreciate your song is so important. At least it is to me, the feed back is vital. I must be honest their are times when I wonder why I post at all. A middle age guy singing songs from 30 and 40 years ago....writing sentimental little ditties. Not very popular...LOL!! ..but comments like yours really make it worth doing!
