It's imposible to don't fall in love with Topol's characters. First it was Fiddler on The Roof, where I learn all the songs by heart and even dress up like him. And after seeing Sallah Shabati, I always whistles and sing to this song, and I don't even speak hebrew. There's only one Topol.

חיים טופול נולד בשנת 1935.
הסרט יצא לאקרנים בשנת 1964.
הוא לא היה בתחילת שנות ה-20 שלו, אבל זה עדיין מרשים.

Haim Topol was 23 years old when he stared in this movie. Absolutely genius! I saw it in the theatre when it first came out and still watch it now. It depicts early Israeli culture in the making perfectly.
