You're not wrong if you say they are an oldies rock and roll band because they are. These songs were written 46 years ago! However, it doesn't diminish their greatness. I'm going to just keep enjoying them until they decide they can't do it anymore.

@Youtoo2128 ...It depends on the venue whether they use the Plexi or not. Smaller enclosed arenas like casinos are more likely to need the acoustic buffering while the open air venues with their raised stages and places for the sound to dissipate don't need it. He's a pretty powerful drummer and the "Wall of Sound" can be ear-splitting in tight places. (As long as his mic is working I'm happy! LOL!)

There may be no Wilson's or Al anymore but this great band has earned the Beach Boy name and the same respect that comes with it. This current line up is one heck of a band there is no doubt the original Beach Boys weren't great because they are legendary. But this band now plays the classics live on stage like as close to the album recordings as possible which the original BB's couldn't do. Sorry to say that but it's true!!!

John is a very capable singer, and talented musician. However, I feel its a slap in the face to Al and Brian for mike and bruce to be running around claiming to be the beach boys. Brian was the genious, Carl was the glue, and Dennis was the sou, Al was the conscience. hmmm seems to me theres nothing left, nothing left to be.

Mike and Bruce cant do it any longer! They have went from being a great band to a rock n roll oldies show! When Carl died....so did the BEach Boys!!!!
