@Baritanist You have managed to be completely wrong, well done sir! He's a lyric baritone with a very agile voice. You might not like it, which is fine. Personally, I think he's better than most baritones around today. There's no microphone though, and he definitely has core. His vibrato is fast, but steady. If either of those weren't in place, he couldn't do a portamento down from the g like that. You might think he sounds like a tenor since he makes this high, difficult aria sound so easy.

@Baritanist your comment is, so help me Gioachino, pathetic.

The prestissimo section is like Italian rap. Except. Better. INFINITELY better!!!

Mah!

He doesn't have any core. He is singing like a pop singer. It sounds mic'd to me as well. It has nothing to do with opera. His vibrato also flutters all the time. LOL! PATHETIC! He is a PATHETIC TENOR with a bad technique, that's why he sings baritone.

The way he just whizzes through the unwritten runs starting at 4:14 is astounding! Not even Merrill could do them that smooth!! Excellent excellent baritone, and really the only modern one besides Pablo Elvira who can keep up with the golden age era baritones. :)
He's so in character at the end - it's almost as though he's saying "yeah, I kick ass, don't I?" Haha...

It's fun to see him finally in some sort of a historic costume; most of his opera videos seem to be modern-dress productions, for some reason. And what a good singer, and what an entertainer!

p.s. Gotta love the double subtitles!
