fantastic!,could sit and watch this stuff all day!!,please, please upload some more of this great racing, the golden years without a doubt!,thank goodness i was there to witness the vast majority of it first hand!,im a massive leapy fan, and, lets be honest, how many times did you see the great man crash?,in any conditions?!?,no wonder he was well hacked off!!,bust finger and all!!,only he could manage several more laps with one hand!!!,truly the king of hot rods!!!!.
Great stuff - As I recall the 1982 race was the second race of the day with Barry having started from the back in the first one and getting nothing on the camera apart from shale. By the way - pretty convinced that the person in the Barry Lee jacket right by were he hit the fence (09.13 on the video) is me!!
you sir are a legend thanks for posting all your vids from the golden years of hot rod racing. classic leapy at his best but not often you seen him crash when leading if at all, sure he would be wetting himself too at hearing his comment after crashing out
Fantastic footage and quite important historically regarding the Metro. You can see now why and how we ended up with today's National Hot Rods when you look at how easily that little Metro pulled away from the larger Hot Rods. Personally though, I still think the racing itself has suffered since we've arrived at cars which almost go round on rails...
