I am a beginning sewer (only repaired things before) and am making a hoodie for my son. I am ready to sew in the zipper and your simple and very clear instructions were VERY helpful. There is still more that I need to know to complete the zipper but your info was great!

Either method will work, but this is the technique most often used with that kind of garment.
