I'm sure there are many cutting edge and hardworking officers at this office, but patents do not advance technology. Patents create monopolies and harm innovation, at the expense of property rights. If you can't use someone else's idea on your own materials, your property right in your own raw materials is undermined.

All new and wonderfull, what will you do to protect a unique person after our system strips them bare to the world? How much trust can a perosn give your agency of secret tellers?

@4:23 Any guesses on what this guy is thinking?

Nice video! I've worked closely with our European patent attorney on prosecuting multiple EP patent applications and I must admit that I'm quite impressed by each Examiner's attention to detail.

"...our examiners, the best that there are"....better than Examiners in the European national offices?

Quite unusual seeing the EPO on youtube. Usually I'm on Youtube when I am avoiding doing my work, not when I am actually doing it.
-
How do you spell PRODUCT PLACEMENT again?
-
Es gibt eine deutsche Version... und ja, deutsche ist nutzlos.

Kind of weird seeing my brother on YouTube. Good positive video

Und wo ist die deutsche Version? Die EPO is trilingual. Dieser Englisch-Fundamentalismus ist eine ganz gefährliches Sache hier in München und Brimelow absolut ignorant in dieser Frage.
My dad works there too! :D Great video!
