@kabarara yea but if you look at the tahitian style its messy and unco as ! hence the reason why they only wear a piece of material these days ; as with the side to side (cook island style ) movement its much cleaner and the group move together as one (: idk thats my opinion - plus tahitians abuse there culture and make it to sexual

proud to be a cookisland girl :)

@CosmicMutty wow so many ignorant people on youtube these days, you mustn't have seen a legitimate tahitian dance before. i do agree that there are people on youtube that post up videos and try to make them provocative and they dont know what they are doing... a traditional tahitian dance is VERY similar to what you see here.

@cuppachachu oh my gosh no one is stealing anything, pick up a history book and learn about all the beautiful islands of polynesia. each island is similar to each other in some way whether its language, customs, dance, religion/beliefs, or even food, yet they are all unique. there are certain differences where you can tell them apart...

how do they do it i want to get married in cook island on the beach

Wonderful dancing and drumming, a credit to your country.
I live in Tokoroa New Zealand, and while we dont see so much dancing, we often listen to our very good Cook Islands drum team in our town, I never get tired of listening to them.
Thanks so much for posting. Brian Jacobi. TOKOROA

Hula dancing is more sexy than the belly dancing...

Now this is real Hula, not that Tahitian style which is more for tourists, people looking for pole dancers, overly sexualizing hula which is bullshit.
