Elinor Carlisle seems to be the obvious murderer of her ailing aunt and the beautiful romantic rival who broke up her engagement, but Poirot uncovers darker motives.

  • Thank you raven for posting this movie. I really enjoyed this and all your videos. Please keep Agatha Christie coming.

  • Such a good ending - one of the bests. But tell me wasn't the woman who played Mary in The New Sherlock Holmes Movie with Robert Downey Jr?

  • Interesting how Poirot confronts everyone separately, personally I like everyone in one room.

  • I love Poirot (and Marple)! I read all the books in my teens and, having watched all the adaptations starring the wonderful David Suchet over the years, I have to say this, and After The Funeral, are my absolute favourites. I love the sombre mood of this one and think Elisabeth Dermot-Walsh gave an utterly compelling performance, and I love the scene where the real villain is unveiled; Poirot acts so cool! Love it!!!

  • When you let go of someone that do not love you, God will send you someone that will love you. Oh, there is hope for me yet.

  • @Ellie21408 Not a lucky coincidence; remember at the start, when Elinor and Roddy had just arrived and Elinor was going in to see Mrs. Wellman? She asked Elinor if she wanted tea, but Elinor said "No thank you, I never drink tea."

    That's how Hopkins knew.

  • Wait a minute. The nurse poisoned the tea to kill Mary, right? Well, that would be a stupid method to commit the murder because she was taking a huge risk. Elinor was there and she could have drunk that tea too. She wasn't poisoned only because she declined the tea. It was a lucky coincidence.

Other than that it's a really good story.

  • @emwot04 I thought something like that too while I was reading the novel.

  • I had this silly grin on my face for ten minutes after the ending.

  • oh,, i so much miss the old theme song,,,, and its jokes,,, but anyway i enjoyed very much of this season too

  • I hope this means now that she won't sell that fabulous house! I can quite see her and the doc living there and raising a brood of children!

  • I would love to see how she and the Docs marriage is getting and Roddy or whatever his name is kicking himself in the butt
