With appeals, it's less to lock them up actually- and how much street cred do you think a pedo carries with him in prison? And I'm afraid under no circumstances should we be chopping people's heads off.

No- because it's not like if you were locked up for the rest of your life instead, you'd somehow become immortal and not die anyway (and you won't have the benefit of all that humane treatment). So instead of spending your remaining days in jail and then succumbing to cancer, heart attack or some other retched thing, you are peacefully put to sleep. It's all very romantic, but doesn't strike me as any kind of punishment.

Fact: Lock them up for the rest of their lives, they ALSO won't rape again, they'll ALSO inevitably die in prison (of God knows what), and they'll ALSO get raped and tortured repeatedly while in there. Don't know if you've heard- but pedos don't have much street cred in prison. They typically end up as the aptly named "bitches."
Seems to me sparing them all of that is no punishment at all.
