Jim Perry was perhaps one of the best game show hosts of the 1980s in the United States. At least "Sale of the Century" was our show before other countries, including Australia, stole it from us.

I agree with you on everything! Jim did hosted card sharks Jim was really into the game his speed rounds was amazing. Its hard to find hosts that are into the game these days

Wow I used to love this show. As a seven year old, I watched it. I watched it for many years until it was canceled by NBC. I would still watch the reruns on USA as well.

In fact, Grundy wasn't able to obtain rights to $otC until 1980, about 7 years after the original US version ended...his 70s series, The Great Temptation, was a clone that Grundy produced when he couldn't (initally) get the rights.

intense. that's amazing how the candidates are able to respond and react at such a fast paced show. that's amazing. were you ever a contestant on the show?

Not an expert, but a huge game show fanatic.

Oh ok, I stand corrected then! I was just going by what I had heard. Australia has always touted it as being a successful game show export (and Deal or No Deal too) lol. I should have known by your userid that you would be an expert :)
That's actually pretty intense... Thanks for that one.
