On November 11, 1999 Terry Kelly was in a Shoppers Drug Mart store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. At 10:55 AM an announcement came over the store's PA asking customers who would still be on the premises at 11:00 AM to give two minutes of silence in respect to the veterans who have sacrificed so much for us.

Terry was impressed with the store's leadership role in adopting the Legion's "two minutes of silence" initiative. He felt that the store's contribution of educating the public to the importance of remembering was commendable.

When eleven o'clock arrived on that day, an announcement was again made asking for the "two minutes of silence" to commence. All customers, with the exception of a man who was accompanied by his young child, showed their respect.

Terry's anger towards the father for trying to engage the store's clerk in conversation and for setting a bad example for his child was later channeled into a beautiful piece of work called, "A Pittance of Time". Terry later recorded "A Pittance of Time" and included it on his full-length music CD, "The Power of the Dream".

  • To those other 36 people who disliked this video, shame on you. Have you no respect for those who gave their lives? Thank you, to all the soldiers who fought for us. Thank you, for fighting for our right to live and homes. We love you.

    Lest we forget.

  • @Cocainemilkshake I would call you scum ,but that wouldn't be fair to scum.

  • @Cocainemilkshake *facepalm*

  • Boy would that ungrateful cur have come in for a verbal dressing down from me. My dad was an Royal Canadian Air Force veteran ,and a Merchant Marine veteran, and I won't tolerate any disrespect to our veterans or serving members. Period.

  • I would have said, "get out now" when the guy gets mad at them for not ringing in his stuff

  • Thumbs up if you are watching in 2012!!!

  • Semper Fi. TILL I DIE!!!!

  • @24582641 Hes probably one of those scumbag americans who thinks Americas military is the best and does eveything, while we sit on our asses and do nothing. He knows that we have great courage and respect than they ever will. Dont bother wasting your breath on him on him, hes not doing himself or his country any favours, just another worthless life in the country we call neighbour. If they would show respect for our soldiers too, not just theirs, id be happy.

  • my father lost a friend in the navy, his plane crashed on the deck and when my father found out it was bad, my father saw it happen, they both served my dads still liven. my uncle served, and due to my uncle getting married im related to Robert e lee. my family is full of vets, who either served or tried and was medically discharged.i honor the fallen.

  • @TheKillViper it could be some soldiers of north korea that lost the war

  • I love this song

Every time I listen / watch it I keep thinking of the disrespectful kid from my high school you said, "why should we respect those who wanted to die" ( course that resulted badly for him)
