  • If you want to find out about the real Castaneda, read Amy Wallace's book, The Sorcerer's Apprentice. She was one of his witches.

  • @Boris82much Whatever the personal shortcomings of Castaneda, he reported the teachings of don Juan very lucidly.

  • After the Death of the great shaman/artist Carlos Castaneda, a "messenger" wrote his true last words in the book, Armando Torres Encounters with the Nagual Conversations with Carlos Castaneda. After your current readings, this final work gives the world a Message of Intention for the future...moving the worlds assemblage point with our unified energy mass!

  • Excellent:)

  • With a cherry on top.

  • @Boris82much He was a masterful, new-agey con and people committed suicide because of his despicable yarns and empty promises. He not only sums up the epitome of a narcissistic and cruel cult leader, but I think his enormously damaging farce added a few new characteristics to typical cult warning signs.

So I wonder, Ian...why you even associate yourself with someone like Castaneda? The total lack of credibility of the messenger ABSOLUTELY affects the message.

    Read Wallace's book.

  • @Boris82much Anyone can learn to project their attention/consciousness, have out-of-body experiences, become healers and so forth (all of which I've had wonderful experiences with). My objection to what Castaneda did was he gathered eastern religious knowledge, with some native American and plenty of guilt-ridden fear-ridden Catholicism, and fabricated and lied for over 30 years. He succeeded in paralyzing his readers with fear because of his inorganic beings bullshit.

  • @MBChB1961 Don Juan Matus never existed. If what Castaneda taught was do-able, reachable...even if for a select few, then he was surely a top candidate to 'burn from within' and cheat death. But he didn't. He couldn't...because he made it all up. He died of liver cancer. Some of his witches committed suicide after his death and cremation. I read his first book in 1972 and even formed a study group to discuss and learn from Castaneda. We were that gullible. He formed a cult and cheated us all.

  • I love this account. Thank you, MB. Don Juan's teachings have had a profound influence on my personal growth and were instrumental in a monumental awakening that occured to me in 2006. Thanks!

  • Thank you for taking the time, delight and sharing this!!
