This short extract is by Hamza Yusuf. Very very very emotional, mashallah.
He vividly explains the following:
-Real knowledge
-Hypocrites
-Hypocrites in the afterlife
-It is an obligation on every Muslim to know Allah and his messenger - this is Allah's command.

Allah raises the level of people in two ways: (a) Belief in Him and (b) Knowledge of Him. This is established in the Qur'an Allah said:
"...Allah will exalt those who believe among you, and those who have knowledge, to high ranks. Allah is informed of what ye do"(Qur'an 58:11)
He said ...Indeed those who fear Allah from his servants they are the knowledgeable, Indeed Allah is the Mighty, the Most Forgiving. (35:28)
In the above cases we clearly see the very high rank that Allah Himself endowed upon those who possess knowledge. (The knowledge above is only in reference to knowledge about Islam.)
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: The quest for knowledge is a compulsion on every Muslim. [Hadeeth Hassan]
