Got bored, took the slip on off of my 1998 Honda VFR800 - Sounds pretty cool, figured I would share it :-)

  • No, he wont have to worry about backpressure cause the headers create the backpressure (size and bends). Plus he the bike has a cat.

No, he wont have to worry about fuel mixture cause its EFI.

No, he wont have to do a valve jobs cause again, headers create the backpressure.

Any smart person knows that aftermarket cans are straight flow so its no different than running a straight pipe.

  • Rangerscott69 - Thank you for saving me the typing :) -- All is true there, except that bike has no cat on it. The 1998 VFR had no cat, they started putting one in them in 2000 with the 5th gen.

  • "The f*er" keeps dying because it was 30 degrees outside and I had just started it up. Riding it like that would do nothing harmful, except maybe be annoyingly loud.

  • wont make any diffrence atall....a mechanic ...sounds great by the way....

  • Sounds great! I ran my cbr for a video without the muffler and the exit is right by the side fairing so it almost started to melt the plastic!

  • every time my dad takes the end off his VFR he always deafens himself and the whole street lmao

  • Thats right. Forgot. Ya the 98-99 headers are gold on ebay. Guys with '00-'01 like to use them with a power commander and get them dyno'd in for the fuel mapping.

  • Probably cause the fast idle wax unit is out. So its not wanting to idle while cold. Read up on the bike your viewing before speaking.

  • You are stupid! Not have an muffler gives no back pressure to your exhaust, which makes your mixture way to rich and will throw your valves way out of position.

  • That only happens when you run with no headpipe for alot longer than 15 seconds. I see drag bikes running exhausts that end after the collector all the time, and no body ever needs to repair anything as a result.
