Nah, no excuses for the Evo. How many Evo 6's do you see that are standard?? Modded Evo, Modded Type-R. Not the best of drivers in the Civic, but its still clearly a quicker car

If the type r had a supercharger it obviously had alot more then 220bhp and is lighter

@xcesspower the supercharger doesn´t alter mpg very much, if you drive it sensibly it runs off boost(see jackson racing supercharger) and is just like a stock car, and then when you mash it it goes on boost and voila power.
and yes the Type-R isn´t exactly meant to be a good gas mileage car and it is sporty, hence the Type-R name!

To be fair, the civic probably has a similar BHP to the evo. In a situation like that you'd probably never pass the civic at knockhill, other tracks may be a different story, it's clear the Evo driver was a better driver, and had much more grip in the corners. Still, I just laughed every time he held his hands up as the Civic pulled away.

shame on evo 6 , awd better handling , and more power ,fwd 220horses vs awd 280 ,i like both cars ,ep3 is far way better ,handles well ,better fuel economy excellent power to weight ratio,more reliable ,no turbo lags ,no clutch problems ,less transmission moving parts transfer case and all stuff headaches,then if you start to tune up cars it s another story,stock by stock honda is better

Why do people buy cars made to have good gas mileage and arent sporty and then put a supercharger on and ruin the gas mileage and its still not sporty or fast? its just stuped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You obviously dont know what a Honda Civic type R is then do you.!! And obvioulsy it is fast as the evo cant pass it.!!!
