Beth-Kiss

Also again I hate the Rock n Roll hall of fame, but all the truly great musically gifted bands have made it in on the first ballot. Kiss finally got on the ballot after 15 years of eligibility and didn't even come close to the percentage of votes needed to get in. Don't get me wrong I like a lot of Kiss songs. But a musically great band they weren't. They're just a fun band with some great party tunes that found a niche and made a shit load of money. I'm not putting them down at all.

Alright friend you obviously didn't read my post. Kiss album sales are not close to the overall album sales of the Who, Led Zepplin, Queen which many consider their contemporaries. However Kiss was a product, and a damn good one. The whole purpose of Kiss was to sell themselves. It was genious! However talent wise they aren't in the same class as the fore mentioned bands. Seeing how Kiss has had only one top 20 hit (Beth), and no top 20 studio albums. However they put on one of the best concerts

tendollarticket you OBVIOUSLY know nothing about music if you think the who and all them are better than kiss musicaly. and doesnt making a huge profit meen that people liked their music. and PLEASE correct me if im wrong but kiss made more money than any of the bands you listed which meens more people listen to their music. which also meens they wer more popular. which in theory kiss is better ; )

And there's nothing wrong with that. This band never hid what they were, and weren't ashamed of it. Like Gene says of his house, "this is the house that bad reviews built." But they were very very very savy, and made a ton of money selling their product.

well now that u mention eric carr, i shouldnt have said that because u've got to admit he WAS devoted to kiss and he was an amazing drummer R.I.P eric carr

I we should see it like the three musketeers plus DArtagnan .
In our case it's 4 + 1. Cause Eric's devotion and contribution to this band makes him at least equal with the original line up. RIP Eric

Okay do you really want to go there? A stupid comment. Actually my comment was spot on. Kiss has only had one top 20 single and has never had a top album. Their biggest selling albums are the live ones they released. Kiss was not musically gifted in any sense of the form. Especially when compared to their contemporaries at the time (Queen, Zepplin etc.). And yes I think kiss has a few good songs, but what made them great was their theatrics and stage shows.

You could easliy say Kiss was the best touring band of it's time, and it's a lot of fun to attend a Kiss concert. But these guys will be the first to admit they are a product. They found a niche and cashed in big time on it. I personally hate the Rock n Roll hall of fame but every great band has made it in on the first try. Kiss has been eligible for ten years and just made it on the ballot, and got rejected. I understand Kiss meant a lot to some people like a7xkid.
