fiat 500 dualogic fail part 1

brand new fiat 500 1.2 lounge with dualogic fail. After 11km a dualogic failure appeared and the car could not change gear and start up.
Service replaced the dualogic ecu on 13.11.08
The car on 20.11.08 (with 98km) failed again. Dualogic failure and car was completely dead. The car was headed to service once again.
It was picked up on 21.11.08 after an update to dualogic ecu and failed for the third time a few hours later.
This time it stayed to the service for about 10 days. I picked up my car on about 4th of December. They had changed the dualogic ecu with a new one with different hardware. Since then i haven't faced any new problems.

I love the car and i hope it will stay faultless forever.

We have got a Grande Punto Dualogic and do have exactly the same problems as you. Now we have sold the Grande Punto and we did buy a Fiat 500 with a 5-speed manual transmission. Never a Dualogic again!

As a car technician I would NEVER recommend such a gearbox to anyone. AVOID! It is too complicated and is prompt to fail with VERY expensive parts and repair procedures. AVOID!
