  • Damn bro Im tryin to finish up this 358ci SB2.2 motor for my aerocoupe monte carlo. What compression ratio you runnin? What type of cam? I need a block with a splayed main cap design dont I?

  • @358SonicBoom

if the headsflow over 400 cfm you should be able to make over 700 hp ... so get a block that can handle that. I have a custom ground cam from Oregon Cam and run 14:1 compression.

  • is that a stock block or an aftermarket block?

  • @MrMurphy1025 the block is a Dart Iron Eagle , tall deck , raised cam , spread pan rails .

  • this engine is wild ! the throttle response is instantaneous. do those heads have the canted valve design?

  • yes, SB2 heads have canted valves
