Attention Police - Just because technically you may be given a tactical excuse to use force, doesn't mean that you should and doesn't mean that it is genuinely justified. Being a peace officer means that you show restraint even if it can hurt, because that uniform means you are a peace officer, not merely a tactical combat officer. If you don't understand that you should not be in that uniform.

  • @RighteousPaladin All of his "friends" on that ship are starfleet officers who took an oath to protect civilians. The exact tactical situaltion is not important. What is important is the lesson of restraint. There is a huge difference between a peace officer and a tactical combat officer. If there wasnt we should just have the army patrol the streets with machine guns and get rid of police. ... "Finally he had given me what I wanted, an excuse to attack him."

  • This philosophy is garbage.

Worf would have put not only his life, but the life of his crew, and ultimately the lives of anyone else that they were protecting at risk. It's fine with me if you sacrifice yourself for an ideal (it's commendable even) but not to sacrifice your friends. When someone jumps out of hiding at someone who is heavily armed, peacekeeper or not, they're risking their own ass.
