I'm thinking of starting to reload 40 cal as well seems to be worth it if u shoot a lot

@SubGlk The chamber in glocks doesnt fully support the casing, so upon firing it stretches the bottom of the case pretty excessively, i reload for my G22 and G27 with the factory barrel and havent had any problems for the most part, although brass life is cut substantially since it gets 'worked' so much from firing and then resized for reloading.

sounds like you want to do it. I thought i would like it and I really do.

Its not as expensive as some think it is. around 400 bucks will get you started. I got a lee classic turret reloading kit from cabelas for 209 and spent the rest on bullets, powder and primers now im setup to reload 2000 rounds of 45 and 40. After you get all the equipment resupplying is not that much the biggest hit you will take is buying your Press. Just research its a good hobby.

Go to cheaperthandirt in look for bitterroot valley or bvac for short and you can get 40 s&w for 14.19 for a box of 50 and the brass in reloadable for a cheap price for hollow points

it matters how much you are wiiling to spend but to answer your question yes it is cheaper to reload and you will get your money back go to gun ranges sometimes gun ranges sell loose range brass and also check online for good prices like cabelas and midway usa etc

The start up costs for reloading depend greatly on what press you select. A basic Lee starter kit with die set can set you back for under $150. Given a .40 round costs around 30 cents, and you can save half that cost reloading, you can recover your costs in as little as 1000 rounds (assuming you reload your own brass). You'll shoot that in less than 3 months assuming you are shooting enough to become proficient.
i heard you should never shoot reloads thru g27 .40. dont know why but several folks say that.

Also, How accurate are you trying to be with your ar? 1 inch groups at 100 yards? These rifles are very accurate out of the box even with trash ammo. I have fired thousands and thousands of rounds through mine and in the military. A man size target at 300 yards with iron sights should be attainable with any ammo.

Just enough to hit a body if need be

Hey you gotta stop calling them clips. Clips are used in rifles like a mauser and such. That was great how you just angle your car to let the casings fly into the trunk. In regards to the reloading: go check out gwargwar1981 and shoot him a message. Be Safe!!!
