A video of icebergs calving off Harvard Glacier, in College Fjord, Alaska, as observed from the "Diamond Princess" on July 9, 2010. It captures events leading up to the largest collapse observed that day, and concludes with a replay filmed in HD. The glacier is 2 miles wide and over 200 feet high. In addition to the running commentary provided by the ship's naturalist, listen for the sounds of the ice-falls themselves ... when you can hear them over the noise of the excited passengers! You'll also get a feel for the forces involved as the 115,000 ton ship is rocked by the glacier.
