Good review. Love my Sitka, it's my favorite EDC backpack. Maxpedition makes awesome gear.

Good review and demo. Looks like a very handy pack.

I'm thinking about this, but i'm worried that is screams "military" because i'm going to primarily use it as a light day pack in an urban environment. your thoughts?

How does this compare to the Kodiak? What would be better for a woman to carry?

Great review. Good work

What do you think off kodiak ??

has anyone found the perfect pouch to add to the webbing along the main zipper?
i have a rolled up dumppouch there now, but it tends to get in the way when using the zip.

@TwoGuysOutdoors i found that the stabalizer strap does not help with weight distribution, but it does keep the bag in place well.
@TwoGuysOutdoors Does the sling style bag become a pain when you have a nice size loud? I have a Messenger bag for College, and with my normal books and papers it doesn't weight more then a few pounds, but it gives me neck and back pains because it's one shoulder carry. The only bags I like from Maxpedition happen to be sling bags, and I don't know if I should go for the sling because when I'm out in the wilderness I'm probably going to have a heavier load which I'm worried will not work out.

@yoohoosk8r There is a trick for carrying the Sitka with a heavy load in it. The key is to cinch the main strap tight so the pack sits high on the back, and then use the secondary strap to distribute the weight. Without the secondary under arm strap the pack can quickly become uncomfortable with any kind of weight in it. My scale is busted right now, so I'm not sure how much my pack weighs, but my best guess is in the area of 12lbs and with the straps correctly adjusted it's not bad at all.
