The most painful pictures of all from Haiti are those of suffering children. As Manuel Gallegus reports, Americans who've been trying to adopt Haitian orphans want to speed up the process.

why don't all these Americans adopting foriegn kids adopt all these American kids who need adopted you know they need good loving homes too don't you.

Foreigners who come over here do better than us who are born here. They take advantage of opportunities that we americans take for granted. So the fact that the child is a "negro" has nothing to do with it. That child is a foreigner and will probably prosper more than you ever will.

The slaves were not upwardly mobile educationally or financially, they were also denied a heritage of educated parents, so what kind of a society do you think these people could build after they freed themselves from the white Christians?

Because adopting in the states is much more expensive because of the corruption in our system. Plus there are not that many american kids that need adopting out, most of the american kids that the state tries to adopt out are taken from loving middle class families who are fighting for them in the courts. The state does all this for profit, its a huge money making racket. Even these people adopting from foreign countries will have to pay thousands of dollars in fee's to do so.
