(camera microphone) After having sold the mighty E-70 and E-75 to move into a smaller place, set about finding an Electone replacement. The EL-40 is from about 1991 or 1992 and has oodles of awesome features. Sounds pretty good, plays really well.

  • can u please tell me what those numbers mean 1-8 that light up on bottom half on keyboard

  • @kurianchandy - - thanks for your question. Those buttons are memory buttons. You can store 8 programs. Other models of Electones have more memory - up to 15 buttons (16 memory slots). In addition you can save program / settings to disk. That is on 3.5" floppy disk. A useful function.

  • I like all the buttons and lights. Useful interface for playing and fun-ness.

  • The EL40 is a great Electone. I've got one but I have midi'd mine upto my PC as well!

  • Very sorry for your loss. Hope to see your CSY-1 in action soon! I'll probably be buying my first Electone soon, most likely a similar model to your EL-40.

  • Dear Fred,

Sorry to hear you had to let go of the E's.

These newer machines are incredible versatile but for me they lack personality. It is however clear once more you are an excellent musician.

    Regards

    Marc
