@padkisson I thought you could cram more fish in there.
They don't need much room with the water flow
When you going to get fish that can be ate?
I am planning to start one soon in my basement.
I have zero sunlight in my backyard.
New LED Grow bulbs are suppose to work great with a low 3w of power.

Nice job man looks great. I am making an indoor aquaponics system right now.I am building mine in my basement. I am actually going to pick up some starter fish for it today. Thanks for posting your results. I also enjoyed your videos on solar cooking. Where did you pick that grill up.

Cutting a barrel longs ways would give you twice as much growing room yes?
How many fish could you hold in the barrel?

Yes and no!!! It would be so much more shallow for the root system. The plants can be planted very close so it is quite a bit of space. Lenghtwise changes the water balance between the beds and the fish barrel. My beds are a 1/3 of the barrel. Cut lengthwise they would be half, so even with the displacement of the rock grow media it would take too much water volume out of the fish barrel every cycle. It will hold about 12 adult fish.

I appreciate that!!! I look forward to seeing your system. Please post a video reply.
That parabolic dish I got from a business in Canada that no longer carries them. Had it shipped to me in California. :0) It was worth it!!!
