I also have a golden retriever and when she plays she does a funny little growl and her tail is wagging like crazy. It is not an aggressive growl and she does not bite, if I put my hand near her mouth when she is doing the growl she snuggles into it. Not all dogs are aggressive, it's a form of communication

@ballsee our golden does the same thing, he will growl, but you can easly take it out he´s mouth with out him biting you :P

looks like hes got a sticky sweet stuck to the roof of his mouth mine use to do this,beautiful dog enjoy him while he has good health

My golden makes these groaning noises all the time. The vet says she's the happiest dog he's ever seen and she's always wagging her tail, but she doesn't like to bark, just groan and talk, lol

I have a 2 year old Golden that comes to my side of the bed in the morning with a sock or slipper and growls to wake me up almost every morning. Check Out "Alvin tool Dog" on Youtube

He's chewing his bone; he know's i'm playing a game that's why he is wagging his tail. He has never bitten me or anyone, however I would not be foolish enough to try and take his bone from him or any dog.
I love him to bits, the video was taken 5 years ago and he is 9 years old now.
