@amorgan93 at unequal headers mostly because i like the subi sound with unequals, but i wasnt sure if stock sti manifold and uppipe would fit in my outback, except for the crossmember of course. Would it clear the block or would it interfere with anything? This is a budget build on the turbo setup. So any tips you can give? and what turbo did you use? thanks

nice subaru. stock internals? can you explain about the "custom headers," i have a 97 outback and i swapped a 2.2 in it, so i was gonna slowly build the 2.5 on the engine stand in my basement, go with sti crank and rods hopefully, and wiseco or cp pistons. The 2.5 heads in the pahse I 2.5 already have a place tapped out for oil feed, it just has a standard bolt run in it. Also was gonna tap into the side of the head into the waterjacket for the coolant feed. Was looking on ebay at headers

hey dude sick car i added u on mysubie can u tell me if u boosted ur stock motor and how i have a 98 2.2 and im thinking of doing the same any tips or help u can pass on
the biggest header issue i can think of is, the non turbo water pump thermostat housing is in the way of the header and will be crushed if you dont use a turbo water pump where the housing is in a different spot

Using the STI stock exhaust manifold will work but the up pipe will not allow enough room for your turbo to clear the block. It will need to be customized as well as the down pipe to give more room so u can put ur intake on. My custom headers are made with the up pipe integrated into them (4-1) equal length. And it give it a very (race) sound. The turbo is off a 2006 Wrx and was only $125. Check out my blog at mysubie.com for you cooling and oil feed for the turbo... no tapping needed
